Coffee and Conversation: Brendon Small of Dethklok

April 7, 2024 - Recently I sat down with one of the hardest working artists I’ve met: Brendon Small, creator of the Most Brutal Metal Band Ever, Dethklok. Dethklok is a fictional death metal band from the animated television series "Metalocalypse." Despite being a fictional creation, Dethklok has gained significant recognition and a dedicated fanbase. The band's music, characterized by its intense aggression, heavy riffs, and dark themes, has resonated with fans of both metal and the show. Dethklok's music is actually performed by Small himself, along with a group of talented musicians. The band's discography includes several albums, such as "The Dethalbum," "Dethalbum II," and "Dethalbum III," which feature a blend of brutal metal tracks interspersed with comedic elements that reflect the absurdity of the show's universe. I chat with Small about how live performances go, their latest album, and why the upcoming April 24th and 25th show dates in San Francisco are extra special.
